Job Description
At Old Houses Japan, we specialize in bringing new life to Japan’s akiya (abandoned houses 🏡) by connecting them with buyers from around the world. High-quality photography is key to capturing the unique charm and potential of these homes, and we’re looking for a Real Estate Photographer to help us showcase these hidden gems in their best light. If you love photography, architecture, and exploring Japan’s countryside, this role is for you! 📸✨
Key Responsibilities
📷 Capture Stunning Akiya Photography – Take high-quality interior and exterior images that highlight the charm and potential of abandoned homes.
🎥 Create Engaging Video Content – Shoot and edit video walkthroughs or short-form content for social media and property listings.
🛠 Enhance & Edit Photos – Retouch and edit images to ensure the best lighting, clarity, and composition while maintaining authenticity.
🚗 Travel to Properties – Visit akiya homes across Japan to conduct photoshoots, sometimes in rural or remote locations.
🌅 Showcase Surrounding Areas – Capture the lifestyle and scenic beauty of the neighborhoods and towns where properties are located.
🤝 Collaborate with Our Team – Work closely with our marketing and real estate teams to ensure visuals align with listing goals and brand identity.
Qualifications
Experience in real estate, architectural, or interior photography.
Strong photo and video editing skills (Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, or similar).
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt to different lighting conditions.
A passion for Japanese culture, architecture, and rural exploration.
Access to reliable transportation for on-site property visits.
(Bonus) Drone photography or videography experience for aerial property shots 🚁.
(Bonus) Japanese language skills to coordinate with property owners and local contacts.
